Let Two Memories Stay Two Memories
A shared moment doesn’t have to become a shared interpretation.
Try a “two details” exchange: if both people are comfortable, each names one detail they remember from an ordinary moment together—and what, if anything, that detail means to them. One person may remember the rain; the other, a sentence from the walk home. Neither version has to be the official one.
The point isn’t to settle whose memory is right or uncover what the other person secretly felt. It’s a small way to notice how different inner worlds can meet without merging. Either person can pass, keep their meaning private, or simply enjoy the difference.
