Sometimes Access Is More Useful Than Ownership

When trying something new, it can feel sensible to buy everything needed up front. But owning the equipment doesn’t guarantee the habit will last; sometimes it only makes the first step more expensive.

A useful thought experiment: borrow or share one tool for a month before deciding whether to buy it. You can test whether the activity fits your routine, learn what you actually need, and keep the option to stop without a cupboard full of good intentions.

The reflection I take from this is that security can come from reliable access, not just possession. Try the smallest reversible version, then review: did sharing work well, or would owning the tool genuinely support what you want to continue?
