When a Plan Stalls, Test the Method
A stalled commitment doesn’t automatically mean the goal is wrong—or that more pressure will help.
Consider a small project you keep postponing. Before making a bigger promise, look at the last attempt: Was the next step unclear? Did it depend on something you didn’t have? Was the time you chose unrealistic? Those are different problems, so they need different changes.
Try changing one part of the method for the next attempt, then note whether it made starting easier. Review that evidence before deciding to continue, adjust, or stop.
The shift in perspective: a setback can be information about the plan, not a verdict on the person. Keep the commitment small enough to learn from it.
